Acceptable Forms Of ID
State-Issued Driver’s License:
This is the most commonly accepted form of identification for notarization purposes. It contains a photograph, signature, and personal identifying information.
State-Issued ID Card:
Similar to a driver’s license, a state-issued ID card is an acceptable form of identification for notarization. It includes a photograph, signature, and personal information.
Passport:
A valid passport issued by the United States or another country is generally accepted as a form of identification for notarization. It contains a photograph, personal information, and signature.
Military ID:
Active duty and retired military personnel may present their military identification cards as acceptable forms of ID for notarization.
Government Employee ID:
Some government-issued employee identification cards may be accepted for notarization, especially if they contain a photograph and signature.
Green Card or Permanent Resident Card:
For non-citizens living in the United States, a valid green card or permanent resident card may be accepted as a form of identification for notarization.
